Volunteer Development Program
- Generates resources for Washington County residents in need, who may not qualify for existing programs.
- Partners with Aroxy Cleaners for Children’s Winter Coat Drive.
- Annual School Supply Project
- Community Service Projects
- Services for low-income individuals and families in emergency situations
- Food items distributed based on family size
- Pasta, canned soup, vegetables, juice, cereal, peanut butter, spaghetti sauce, meat items when available, etc.
- Resources to assist with emergency food, shelter and utility assistance
- Can aid in cases of eviction and power shut-offs
- Limited Funding, based on availability
- Provides transportation services for Washington County seniors based on availability.
- Medicaid transports through Department of Social Services referral
- Hours: Monday—Friday, 8 am—4 pm
- Provides energy saving services to low-income individuals and families residing in Washington County
- Assist in reducing energy usage within the home
- Detection of health/safety concerns that may cause illness or injury
- Testing of existing heating system
- Infra-red scans to determine areas of heat loss in the home
- Blower door test to determine air infiltration
- No labor or material charges to individuals or families that meet NYS eligibility requirements
- NYS Certified One Stop Center of Washington County
- Funds provided through Workforce Investment Act legislation (WIA)
Serving Youth (16-21), Adults (18+) and Dislocated Workers
- Services for Employed, Under-Employed and Unemployed Workers
- Job Search Assistance, Local Labor Market information, resume assistance, Limited Training Scholarships
- Work Experience and basic skills programming for youth
- Services for Employers include– job postings, pre-screening services, printed resource information, etc.
- Re-employment Services for NYSDOL Unemployment Insurance Claimants
- Federally funded program for low-income families
- Serves pregnant women and children ages 0-5 years of age
- 6 Centers
- Full day/half day services
- Early Head Start ~ 0-3 years old
- Head Start ~ 3-5 years old
- Follows public school calendar
- 6 week summer session
